can we help you?
Our Goal is to Make a Substantial Impact in Partnership With the Community. Did you know? Rebuilding Together * Howard County preserves and revitalizes houses and communities. Each year, Rebuilding Together rehabilitates, remodels and repairs the homes of approximately 35 older adults, people with disabilities and families with children who are in financial need. How are homes selected? Homeowners are referred to us through County agencies, local churches, senior citizens, community organizations, neighbor-hood organizations, and private individuals. Applications are available by calling Rebuilding Together Howard County or in the Forms & Docs section of this website. A member of our house selection committee will visit and inspect the applicant’s house. The board reviews the application and the site report to determine eligibility and feasibility of the repairs. What type of repairs are done? The work done varies from home to home. Repairs may include painting, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, electrical and general repairs, as well as landscaping, yard clean up and trash removal. Our priority is to make the house safe, warm and dry. All repairs should be completed in one eight (8) hour day. Do homeowners pay? All repairs are free for homeowners. Labor and many supplies are typically donated. Homeowners and family members are asked to welcome the volunteers into their homes and work alongside them to the extent possible. Our work is done with families and neighborhoods, not for them. If you, or another homeowner you know, would like additional information or would like to receive an application, please contact Contact Us.
